Text with 9-1-1

Text with 9-1-1 (T9-1-1)

Text with 9-1-1 (T9-1-1) is a free-of-charge service that allows Deaf or hard of hearing users to communicate with a 9-1-1 call centre in the form of text messaging (SMS).

Eligibility

Bell Mobility subscribers who are Deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired must register for the T9-1-1 service in order to communicate with a 9-1-1 call centre.

To register for T9-1-1, you will need:

  • An active Bell Mobility phone number linked to MyBell
  • A compatible mobile phone with the latest operating system
  • A rate plan that supports text messaging (SMS)

Please note: corporate clients can request T9-1-1 through their key contact.

Registration

It is mandatory to register for the T9-1-1 service in order to be able to use it. To begin the registration process, please select your phone from the list of compatible phones below:

If your phone is not on the list, then it is not compatible with T9-1-1. If you do not have a compatible phone, you will not be able to continue with the registration process. If you still wish to register for T9-1-1, you may view Bell's complete line-up of phones.

Once your compatible phone has been selected from the above list, please click on Register for T9-1-1 below to complete your registration.

Once registration is complete, you'll receive an email and a text message confirming your registration. It will take up to 5 business days for the T9-1-1 service to become active.

Note: Bell cannot provide compatibility information on phones not purchased from Bell or an authorized Bell dealer. Only the default text messaging application on your phone will support T9-1-1. T9-1-1 will not work with any application other than the default text messaging application.
