TCP/IP and PPP dial-up setup for Macintosh

Which dial-in access number should I use?
  1. From the Apple Menu, click System Preferences.

  2. Under Internet & Wireless, click the Network icon.

  3. Select your modem on the left.

    Note:

    If your modem isn’t in the list, make sure it’s connected to your computer (either internally or externally), and click Add (+) at the bottom of the list. Choose Modem from the Interface pop-up menu, give the modem service a name, and then click Create.

  4. Choose the Network Screen:

    1. Configuration: Default.
    2. Telephone Number: 204-225-4638 (unless roaming, please refer to Which dial-in access number should I use?).
    3. Account Name: user id provided by Bell MTS.
    4. Password: password provided by Bell MTS.
    5. Click on remember this password to select it.
    6. Click Show PPPoE status in menu bar to select it.
    7. Click Connect.
OS 10.8 Mountain Lion and Higher
  1. From the Apple Menu, click System Preferences.

  2. From the Internet & Wireless, click the Network icon.

  3. Select your modem on the left.

  3. Click on the up-and-down arrows located on the right-hand side of the Show: field, choose Internal Modem.

  4. Click the PPP tab.

  5. Complete the Network Screen:

    1. Service Provider: not required.
    2. Account Name: user id provided by Bell MTS.
    3. Password: password provided by Bell MTS.
    4. Telephone Number: 204-225-4638 (unless roaming, please refer to Which dial-in access number should I use?).
    5. Click on Save password to select it.
    6. Click Apply Now.
OS 10.3 Panther
  1. From the Apple Menu, click System Preferences.

  2. From the Internet & Wireless, click the Network icon.

  3. Click on the Internal Modem on the left.

  4. On the PPP tab complete the fields.

    1. Service Provider: not required.

    3. Password: password provided by Bell MTS.

    5. Click on Save password to select it.

  1. From the Apple Menu, click System Preferences.

  2. From the Internet & Wireless, click the Network icon.

  3. Click Internal Modem on the left.

  4. On the PPP tab complete the fields.
